An MDS Mesh PCB Transparent LED Display in P3.9 turns the upper part of the shop window of the Clogau jewellery store in Chester into a digital showcase. Jewellery imagery plays across the glass while passers-by still see straight into the store and its display cases.

The challenge

A jewellery window has to catch attention from the street without hiding the products, the interior lighting or the open look of the shop behind the glass. A conventional solid LED wall would have filled the window and blocked the view into the store.

The MDS solution

A 4375 × 1500 mm P3.9 transparent LED display was hung about 1 m behind the window glass, across the upper window area. It was installed by two engineers in the UK with guidance from the MDS team in China. P3.9 gives enough detail for shoppers looking at the window from the pavement, while the open mesh structure keeps the store visible through the screen.
